► Anything to do with the big blue ; This man LOVES THE MOTHERTRUCKIN' OCEAN. Shouhei can stand on the beach yelling his lungs out at the vast expanse of salt water for hours on end just waiting for some miraculous thing to happen.
► Lemons ; A little strange for a favorite food, but yes, lemons. Shouhei loves lemons to death. He has lemon shampoo, body wash, deodorant, air freshener… just everything and anything Lemony. His favorite food is lemon meringue pie, something he would go great lengths just to eat. (Not to be confused with stuff from fanfiction kthx)[/ul]

A hyperactive ball of condensed energy, Shouhei is Vongola's headstrong, stubborn, but overall compassionate eleventh sun guardian with a peanut-sized brain. He's your neighborhood friendly jock with so little on his mind it's practically a blank slate. Only ever serious in life or relationship threatening situations, Shouhei shares multiple similarities with his predecessor, Sasagawa Ryohei, whom he respects and looks up to like a son would their father or grandfather. Therefore, Shouhei cannot tolerate those who speak ill of his mentor and wastes no time in dashing out to give the offender a piece of his mind. Either way, Shouhei always manages to get himself hospitalized for one reason or another, much to the worry of his parents. However, the blonde always laughs it off and claims the events are key in his 'becoming of a real man'.
Everything he does, Shouhei does with passion and spirit. His motto is 'to the limit!', which he uses to justify all his irresponsible and stubborn actions. He has a very short memory and often ends up forgetting important dates and details. Shouhei tends to show more genuine concern for his blood related family as opposed to the Vongola family due to an accident in the past involving his (now in a coma) older brother, which he still feels (hidden) guilt for.
Shouhei is apparently inept at creating suitable insults and nicknames for others, as a result, most of his insults reflect on his intellectual level and are quite comical in nature for all the wrong reasons. He is incapable of staying still for longer than five minutes and insists on going out for physical activities every thirty seconds or so. When forced to sit still, he becomes fidgety and breaks about half a million pencils just to satiate his hyperactive disorder. Shouhei also has the attention span of a chihuahua, and fails to concentrate on something he finds no interest in.
Overall, Shouhei is kind. He shows compassion and doesn't waste a minute of his life. He lives on the edge and prefers everything in the extreme. His goal in life is to constantly expand his limits, eventually becoming limitless. It's a fool's dream, but a dream nonetheless.

Height: 6'2" (~188cm)
Weight: 170lbs
Remarkable Features: Always has boxing handwraps on, just in case
Overall Looks:
Standing at 6'2" and weighing 170lbs, Shouhei is healthily above average for his age and enjoys staying in tip top physical condition to compliment his lifestyle. Naturally blonde, he possesses a short low-maintenance hairstyle, rarely tending to it unless in formal situations, where he styles his hair a bit with some gel, otherwise, Shouhei likes to leave his hair alone. Working exceptionally with his hairstyle, Shouhei has large well rounded chocolate brown eyes and thin eyebrows. He is also shown to be perfectly tanned, most likely from all the outdoor activities he participates in. Due to his love for swimming and lemon scented products, Shouhei always smells faintly of chlorine and lemons.
Coming from all his sporty activities, Shouhei carries a sports sling bag dedicated to nothing but his swim gear, some gauze, and lemon scented deodorants. The bag is black and completely beat up from all its years of service, but Shouhei insists on keeping it. Treating it as a memento of sorts.
In terms of clothing, Shouhei doesn't care. Everything in his wardrobe was picked out by his mother- loose fitting solid bright colors and almost no winter clothing as if Shouhei was immune to winter. His preferred article of clothing however, is the white hoodie he received from his brother. It can be considered a personal treasure of sorts to the young blonde.

B A C K G R O U N D !
History: Shouhei Higashizawa was born into a family of four with a protective mom, a goofy dad, and a caring older brother who means the world to him. From a very young age Shouhei was a hyperactive bundle of joy. His father would give him pep talks every now and then about being a man, and Shouhei would respond by trying to break and fix everything he can get his hands on- much to the worry of his mother, who then instructed Shouhei's older brother to watch over him.
On weekdays, Shouhei attended school, and like every other elementary school in his area, Shouhei would see guest speakers come in to talk about various things every week. Drugs, alcohol, smoking, safe sex, and the lot- but Shouhei's favorite talk came from a man who visited their school to speak about physical fitness and healthy active living given by none other than Sasagawa Ryohei. Back then, Shouhei had lived on blissfully unaware of the mafia world around him, he had simply assumed Ryohei was a businessman or a part-time sports coach for some team outside of Japan and as such, had treated Ryohei like an ideal role model next to his brother. Somewhere between the talk, Ryohei had gotten slightly off track in talking about 'EXTREME' sports like BMX Freestyle and Extreme Motorsport. Given the short attention span that he had, Shouhei had stopped listening by the time Ryohei had issued a 'don't try at home' warning to the class- and Shouhei jogged home with nothing on his mind but extreme sports.
Of course, that turned out to be a problem for his studious older brother, who simply could not get young Shouhei to concentrate without having to tap the motorsport crazed kid on the head every two or so minutes. Fed up, Shouhei's older brother promised said child a sneak-ride on his dad's motorcycle if Shouhei would pay attention, to which the latter agreed to almost too eagerly.
Nothing bad should've happened that day. After all, Shouhei's older brother was at the time at legal driving age and possessed a license. However, with Shouhei on board, it was a whole different story. They were just on their way through a busy highway when, by complete chance, Shouhei spotted an 'under construction' ramp in the road and, mistaking it to be a trick ramp, pestered his brother to accelerate towards it. Being the voice of reason, his brother refused, following the refusal by a million things that could go wrong- but did Shouhei listen? Of course not, he never did- and in one act of defiance, the young blonde grabbed his brother's arms and twisted them sideways, manipulating the handlebars on the motorbike towards the ramp. His older brother resisted, trying his best to twist the bike back onto the road, but to no avail, the conflicting motions caused the vehicle to crash into the highway railing and spin out of control, ripping both siblings out of their seats in a circular motion. The last thing Shouhei heard was the panicked shouting of nearby workers and drivers who had stopped to call the police before blacking out completely.
He woke up two days later, with a broken arm and covered in cuts and deep purple bruises but otherwise alive. Turns out, Shouhei's brother had just been taken out of life support after one day, very much alive but stuck in a coma. He too, was covered in cuts and bruises, but the doctors say his wounds were worse. As he had struggled to protect Shouhei from the impact, both his legs were broken in three places, and he may never be able to walk again. Guilt-ridden, Shouhei found himself clam up whenever he tried to explain everything to his sobbing mom by his brother's bedside. He couldn't tell her it was his fault this tragedy happened, he just couldn't. Shouhei couldn't even ask his brother for forgiveness. Since then, he developed a morbid fear of motorcycles and vehicles.
Since then, Shouhei's energy level dropped at school. He didn't concentrate on his studies as usual, but he was finding it increasingly difficult to maintain his passion for sports as well. One day, when walking home from school, all the frustration and guilt he had been keeping in for months began to spill out uncontrollably, and Shouhei unintentionally slammed his fist against a nearby stop sign. There was a sickening crack as his knuckles broke against cold steel, and Ryohei, who was just on his way to visit his family, rushed over to the now crying teen- who was rambling on about how it was all his fault before being rushed to the hospital.
Discharged shortly after, Shouhei went back to his normal routine, walking home from school except this time, Ryohei waited for him next to the stop sign with a knowing smile. Somehow, with all his mafia connections, Ryohei found out about the incident, and confirmed his understanding and sympathy with the younger male. Of course, he wasn't there for that exact reason- he was there because the stop sign Shouhei punched with all his might had bended terribly and was now standing at a strange angle. Ryohei automatically assumed Shouhei had potential, and took him in for some 'special training' to get the boy's mind off things.
There, during these training sessions, Shouhei learned to look forward and not back, to enjoy life to the fullest because you never know when you're going to go.
Years later Shouhei was chosen out of the blue by Ryohei to be the next generation sun guardian, and Shouhei was immediately thrown into a whirlwind of events he didn't ever imagine going into, because Ryohei had never intended him to- but what the heck, it's just another adventure.
'Because when I go, I'm going with a smile on my face.'

Crystal clear waters, fine white sand that gleams in the sun, warm to the touch and silky at the same time. The occasional breeze that ruffles your hair and clothes. The sound of waves crashing onto land and retreating into the ocean. Reiji could find a million things he loved about the beach during the morning. He adored everything, from the sound of receding waves to the smell of the ocean itself. Somehow it all seemed… soothing. Reiji smiled at the thought. He always enjoyed a morning walk on the beach, the way his flip-flops left shallow imprints in the sand. They were like little segments of memories, treasures that are created, then buried. To Reiji, the sand on beaches meant more than sea shells and homes to fiddler crabs. The beach itself is like a vast memory bank, filled with the emotions of all who walked on it.
'A seagull cries with wings that fiercely beat. Above the clear blue sea and shining sand. A voice that shouts and sings to summer's heat. In paradise, this golden stretch of land.'
Reiji sighed, so much for sentimental reflections on environment. The Raiju inside him sure knows how to ruin a moment. "That was a poem." Reiji stated, continuing his morning beach-stroll. Both his hands were stuffed in pant pockets as his shirt moved accordingly to the passing breeze.
'Not just any poem! It was the first stanza for a Shakespearean Sonnet, Reiji! Four out of the fourteen beautiful lines of perfect literature.'
Reiji mentally facepalmed, just recently his Raiju had taken a shine to poetry. Shakespearean Poetry to be exact, and it annoyed the teen so much to have to listen to the idiot ramble on and on about his improvised sonnets and how important poetry was to modern culture. Quite frankly, he liked the beast's 'philosophy phase' better. Yawning lightly, Reiji tossed both hands into the air for a nice big stretch, ignoring the fact that the burn scars on his arms were now completely obvious under sunlight.
He had stopped walking along the shoreline a while ago and decided instead to stare at the vast expanse of ocean. Thought facially emotionless Reiji could not help but feel slightly happier when looking at the clear waters. Slowly, he began taking several steps into the water, stopping when the liquid reached his knees.
'You know I just had a thought. People tend to come to the beach starting at around this time Reiji. Hypothetically speaking, shouldn't we be hauling ass by now to prevent crowds of screaming children from stepping over your <<bank of beautiful memories>>?'
Reiji growled at the Raiju's sarcasm, especially at the 'bank of beautiful memories' part. He made the thing sound like a destination for Dora the Explorer or My Little Pony. Gross. Though he couldn't help but agree with the beast. Parents tend to start bringing their children in at this time of day, and Reiji did not want to be annoyed by crying infants and squealing kids. Not now anyways
